another year trying to celebrate my birthday, only to realize it's too soon and i don't have the energy to make things happen now. also — is it just me, or does planning your own birthday feel like the most narcissistic thing ever? not sure i'll ever manage to pull off something for any of mine, lol.

I chose to rent out a wine shop for my 40th at the end of July I usually just do dinner, but I’ve built a really core group of friends in my community these past two years and bringing people together for a few hours with pizza and champagne sounded perfect Maybe I’m narcissistic but I’m very much looking forward to it this year

happy birthday in advance yon 🌈❤️ yes, it can feel narcissistic… but when i get the feeling i tell myself i’ll never be this age again and i’ll never experience this moment again so why not celebrate myself… life is short anyways. on not having energy, it’s pretty normal to feel that way. give yourself grace 🤍 and if you suddenly have the energy again, maybe go out with a couple friends and family :) just do whatever makes you feel good man, no pressure king

Yep, I don’t even like telling people about my birthday let alone asking them to celebrate it. Instead, if you want to hang out with people just have a get together for the sake of hanging out and don’t make it all about you. Low pressure.
