> Viewing sunlight within the first hours of waking (as soon as you can, even if through cloud cover) increases early-day cortisol release (the ideal time for elevated cortisol) and prepares the body for sleep later that night. A morning spike in cortisol will also positively influence your immune system, metabolism and ability to focus during the day.
My best start to the morning is on the back deck facing east, fresh air, no shirt no shoes, with book/compy in front of me. Of course it was Huberman that planted the idea and the wisdom has played out true for me. I don't always take the time, but I when I do, I feel better even after a few minutes out there, even when taking those extra minutes can tighten my timing; I feel the pressure but not the stress of the pressure.
In the winters, I'll usually sit in front of the east-facing living room window if I don't go outside. It's not the same, but it's what I have to work with.
