another year trying to celebrate my birthday, only to realize it's too soon and i don't have the energy to make things happen now.

also — is it just me, or does planning your own birthday feel like the most narcissistic thing ever?
not sure i'll ever manage to pull off something for any of mine, lol.

trick your brain that you're planning it for a 'surprise guest' and then show up and be like "omg who is this for?! happy b-day to them whoever it is!" and then celebrate for 'them' vs you... (but wake up and realize it WAS you but it was a great time and horay)
