Searchcaster (iykyk) is 3 years old this week It's been bad for a while since I haven't dedicated time, but I still pay for infra, so I plan to take it down in a few days Any lingering web users, check out @buoy Any lingering API users, check out @neynar Feels weird to kill my first Farcaster app, but it's time 🫑

If you're not familiar with the lore, back in early 2022: - there was no mobile app - the purple app was called "farcaster" before "warpcast" existed - there was no p2p network with events, you had to iterate through everybody's "user directory" (i think that's what it was called) on a cron job - there was no canonical way to embed an image or link in a cast, you just had to parse all URLs from a text blob - the way you recasted or deleted something was just a cast that started with "recast://" or "delete://" probably some other funny tidbits that im forgetting. fun times!

Searchcaster and Discove were what first pulled me into building on Farcaster. I used SC heavily for /outcasters and want to thank you for keeping it up as long as you did

Searchcaster was used early on @brightmoments to resolve fids to users And then used in any starter fc projects I create - v easy and β€œjust worked” 🫑🫑
