ok this kinda sucks, but i legit have repetitive strain in my shoulder/neck from DJing and being on the computer too much 🫠 so, i'm moving slower than usual, but we stay cooking πŸ§‘β€πŸ³ any pointers from the peanut gallery? for context, i'm 36 and the biggest issue is the top of my left trapezius (if you traced a line from the bottom of my left ear to the top of my left shoulder)

If you figure it out I’d love to know. Fighting the same thing for years now too.

I've been using these things for a few years now and can't imagine life without them, my issues are a bit different than yours pretty much my whole back area but have a shrunken disc in my lower vertebrae. https://gochirp.com/products/chirp-wheel-3-pack?srsltid=AfmBOoqnMZb6mRth-WoqL1r4F1vcDRQqEsF5BkEvqtdhk9qz1LoMe_QL

Gotta teach it to relax and not engage when it doesn’t have to. I have traps like as if I’m a body builder, from years of being tense. Dedicated a lot of time for months leading up to my wedding to relax them so they’d shrink for the photos. Combo of deep tissue massage and lower traps/rhomboid strengthening

The djing part is tough cause you can’t really expect to be able to adjust the table height or request a specific table height when you’re out playing gigs So that prob makes the stretching and strength training more important Im no fitness pro by any means, just have dealt with my own back issues in recent years

- More movement/stretching through the day. If it’s starting to hurt, that’s a good sign to take a stretch break or a quick walk - make sure your keyboard is at the right height - shoulders down and back, elbows 90 degree angle (and supported if possible). Similar to above, when you start feeling the pain come on, that prob means whatever position you’re in is problematic

I had a sprain in this area a few years back from a car accident. A chiropractor can adjust or apply pressure to release the tension

The exercises recommended plus pressure points should give you some relief, I stopped eating gluten for a few months which cleared up a similar problem

mine is bicep tendinitis i think, super annoying gonna try a split keyboard and in general weighted mobility exercises would recommend finding a physical therapist/trainer who doesn't just blanket prescribe the same exercises and actually structures a custom program
