IMO farcaster should do a full reset of the engagement "power" for all accounts. The fact that one like from an OG account is worth much more than dozens of likes from "regular" users is just wrong. True trends can't exist this way (especially with how some of those OGs barely engage/reply to others)

lots of people in Europe and Asia are casting, but most trending casts are from US based accounts and already few hours old

Sucks dude I posted about this the other day and agree completely. You get penalized for not basically glazing all the high follow accounts

Exactly, I agree 100%. It's frustrating that everything has worked the same way since FC was created.

I get the frustration. Farcaster’s current engagement weighting does favor older accounts, which can distort what’s truly trending right now. That said, I think the original intent was to reward reputation and reduce spam or manipulation but maybe the system needs a refresh to reflect how global and active the network has become. A possible middle ground: ✅ More dynamic weighting based on recent activity, not just age ✅ Regional or timezone-aware trending views ✅ A way for newer voices to surface faster if engagement is organic

I think the followers multiplier should decrease with each follow. 150k acc * 2 ≠ 300k acc, they are almost same. Not sure it’s considered.

i totally agree the OG's don’t really have time to find those underrated gems every day they usually end up interacting with the people they follow or maybe 1–2 trending posts from that underrated small creator for their banger posts. only 1 or 2 might get that like from them but most of the time, the rest won’t even get noticed.

💯 percent agree here, but it’s been like this forever, the algorithm is set to drive the engagement towards larger and the inner circle accounts while keeping most other accounts down especially if you’re not tipping automatically. This is my personal experience. 200 $degen
