IMO farcaster should do a full reset of the engagement "power" for all accounts. The fact that one like from an OG account is worth much more than dozens of likes from "regular" users is just wrong. True trends can't exist this way (especially with how some of those OGs barely engage/reply to others)

I get the frustration. Farcaster’s current engagement weighting does favor older accounts, which can distort what’s truly trending right now. That said, I think the original intent was to reward reputation and reduce spam or manipulation but maybe the system needs a refresh to reflect how global and active the network has become.

A possible middle ground:
✅ More dynamic weighting based on recent activity, not just age
✅ Regional or timezone-aware trending views
✅ A way for newer voices to surface faster if engagement is organic
