I find these stylistic quirks of LLMs interesting I would never write a header like this but I can kinda see how it's optimal for communicating
✅ The Mechanism (Correct + Simple)
- I want Farcaster to succeed as social network - I think the intersection of crypto x social is the most promising place for Farcaster to innovate - I think markets are the core innovation of crypto - I think markets are powerful tools that can bring good and evil into the world - I don't want Farcaster to just be a casino - I think the term casino is often used as a reductive mental model substituted for critical thinking on what is an evolving frontier - I think the term casino is subjective and subject to hypocrisy, e.g. my community funded cultural project vs their degen shitcoin - I think innovation at the social layer is the key to moving into the more aspirational adjacent possibility space of crypto and Farcaster is uniquely positioned to lead here (the app, the protocol, the community) - I don't think it's the only reason sentiment is down but I'm always shocked at how market and social sentiment track - I'm massively grateful for everyone who's spent time and energy contributing to Farcaster - it's been an emotional and distressing roller coaster for me the past few weeks but I'm phenomenally excited about the possibilities I see on the horizon to the point where even after what was a brutal week I stayed up late last night researching and contemplating a new angle on how Farcaster x Clanker can better bring projects to be
interesting content can’t just be short form videos, aesthetic photos, elites dunking on each other, connecting with your IRL friends, or any other market already captured and at scale has to be something you can’t get anywhere else: being early, emerging scenes, groups of geeks largely free of mops and sociopaths
It’s 10x easier (still hard) to build a Warpcast level FC client than it was 4 years ago - Farcaster exists - Hubs exists - SIWF exists - Neynar exists - 10s of thousands of potential daily users exist plus more people onboarding all the time schlep problem and skill issue (@woj excluded)
