i'm excited to see a fork of farcaster be attempted there is no double spend problem social so "forking" isn't like in a blockchain where diverging state means incompatible worlds (the core purpose of global consensus in farcaster is to allow for efficient real time sync between nodes) you could have a simple "fork" of farcaster running that has more decentralized validator set, or with different rules altogether like no global consensus a la hubs, that still accepts messages INLCUDING all the messages running on farcaster classic if it uses the same registry contract it can also trivially submit it's messages into farcaster classic all permissionlessly! for 1000x less the cost of building farcaster from scratch! and doesn't need to be zero sum! surprised no one experimented with this before probably bc the real challenge is building an app and getting people to download and use it every day anyway Cassie is as real as it gets and excited to see how the experiment goes
