the tbpn guys talking about how the claude superbowl ad is off brand is fascinating to me
on the one hand I get it - no one outside of tech circles gives a shit about ads that aren't even in their chatgpt yet, this isn't going to land with the majority of potential users watching the superbowl
on the other hand - so much (hardware deals, funding, talent wars) are riding on narrative control that the 4d chess take is that it's easily worth 80mm just to put a w on the scoreboard and a chink in the openai armor
unclear to me how much awareness is going on at anthropic but its an interesting case study in messaging no matter what the intention was
