"I mean" is a red flag for a specific type of person the kind with strong belief of moral agenda held so strongly it must be beaten into everyone else delusionally manipulative, thirsty for narrative control the phrase says something is reasonable but unacceptable such people will never compromise to common sense

@BogdanIonutCir2 I mean, I can’t disagree with that. But my timeline has all the important decisions about AI safety being made before his term ends. So we gotta play the cards we’re dealt. I’m just saying it’s a transactional world right now. There are ways to play these cards effectively.

Operating in stealth mode is almost always a mistake. Talk publicly about what you're building. You’ll build momentum, get real feedback, and someone will reach out with the other half of your idea you didn’t realize you were missing.

funny how every single time someone chooses harassment and assassination instead of debate they use the same room-temp thought-terminating cliche "say it with your chest" theory of male instinct in need of external validation cannot handle the critical theory of intellectual faculty utterly banal existence

imagine all the pseudointellectual misanthropes twisting their conspiratorial worldview into a pretzel when any adult who's managed significant enterprise can see these types can never handle responsibility and every example of them seizing control ends in failure

It’s almost as if a city that boasts an artistic “multicultural central neighbourhood where its vibrant social activism milieu is evident” didn’t, by definition, rely on a the support of a suburban working-class population that grows to resent the overlords. https://t.co/gRPXXoqX4P

Yeah, so basically the current prevailing schizo internet theory is that AI nerds have destroyed the internet and created infinite spam. The advertisement goons are now incapable of determining who is a bot and who is an actual human. The advertisement goons no longer want to https://t.co/tm1h1T3Lrh

There are often posts mentioning that I donated a very large amount of funds to @FLI_org years ago and connecting me to various policy actions that they take. I thought I would make clear the record both on the nature of my connection to them, and on similarities and differences

This is a strong founding team, and it's good to see Anthropic continue to address the prospective economic and societal impacts of AI head on - I expect this team to think to a scale consistent with Anthropic's AI expectations (which most of academia still is not). Glad to see

I doubt that anyone I know steals from Whole Foods, but the milieu that the article depicted, where it's normal for perfectly well-off people to steal things because why not, was really upsetting to read about, so I actually want to try to earnestly explain why you shouldn't do

We can go a step further. The Anthropic constitution is a set of principles for how Claude should act and what its character should be. Does this mean that no human whose parents instructed them to have values other than the literal US Constitution should be in the supply chain?
