one of the most common mistakes that builders make is inventing new words to describe features in their product. resist this urge at all costs. very few products succeed in coining new verbs or nouns. it is an incredibly high bar.

Well said, Donโ€™t complicate things. This strategy works with very reputed companies but newbies when they do this, translating interest to consumer becomes very hard.

Very good advice. Too easy to drink the kookaid and convince yourself that it will catch on.

Big agree, important to meet people where theyโ€™re at in terms that they understand I see way too much overcomplication to try to sound fancy or smart, just ends up confusing and losing folks

Inventing new words also creates barriers of understanding for users or devs. In Farcaster's case I think it makes sense. Frames are basically apps and actions are similar to browser extensions. But them being embedded within the social network merits a new name given the new mental model.

Give users what users already know. Creating new experiences can still use familiar features and micro-functionalities. No need to re-invent the wheel.

Strong agree. We argued about nomenclature for years, and the reality was: if you have to explain the word, it likely sucks.
