My Dad died unexpectedly. I’m flying back to LA to pack up my apartment and relocate home to Michigan to be with my family. Looking to get a reliable car in LA that I can drive back to Michigan. Basketball was me and my Dad’s bond. I started playing when I was 9 & earned a 4yr full ride scholarship. Where I became the starting point guard in college and graduated cum laude. Basketball created Faith and discipline deep inside me. Every morning I do “Faith Training” — it’s become a nonnegotiable over the years and I’m relying on it even more than ever now. My Dad passed a week ago. That same week I was accepted into a competition with Stan Store. The Thursday I got the call about Dad, I was working on what I thought was the final piece to bring everything together - The Rich Life Blueprint. I was wrong. I love you Dad 🖤 Today was a blur. The bit of energy I had left from the visitation yesterday was dedicated to Mom and the family. I woke up early to spend time in the queit place with you and Father God so we could perfect your legacy speech. It’s hard to put everything that’s in my heart into 3mins but I did my best. The place was packed — You were truly loved by so many. And your impact of how much you poured into and nurtured the Holland community (and beyond) flooded the room. If I’m honest, it’s often hard to breathe and it feels like you’re sitting on me — but then I think of you actually sitting on me and laugh. Nothing feels real other than God and the family. Thank you for rooting us in such a solid foundation. Even amidst the chaos - I’m able to hear you in my heart so clearly “You’re the oldest - you gotta take care of everyone.”

Yesterday was visitation - 200+ came to show love to my Dad. Overwhelming is an understatement. Mom is a fucking warrior fr. Me and my brother took turns standing by her as people showed their condolences. Dad's impact on the community was massive. From coaching to being a production manager -- he was loved by so many across the country. Today is the funeral. this is my speech. God please cover our family in your love, grace and mercy. Today was tough. I picked up Dads memorial photo, checked on Grandma and Grandpa, and went through the Chic Fil A drive through 3x for family dinner. Tomorrow is the visitation. The next 2 days will be the hardest of my life. Every time I think of how hard all of this is for me - I think of Mom. and how this is 100x more painful for her.

I love you Dad 🖤 I feel like I told you that often, but I wish I told you more. You’re the greatest man I’ve ever known and the best father a man can ask for. You taught me so much about life in such a unique way. A man of God who was fiercely dedicated to his big beautiful family. Thank you for loving me unconditionally - and always encouraging me to live my truth unapologetically. You used the game of basketball to help me develop discipline and Faith in the abilities God gave me - on and off the court. Thank you for creating moments for me to “figure it out” - those intentionally curated moments helped for me to build trust in myself. I’m so grateful for this last trip we had together in LA with Mom. I’m so thankful to have been able to spend time at the beach together and listen to the loud ocean waves and hearing you say “it’s so peaceful”. Lord knows you worked so hard all your life - making endless sacrifices for us. It lifted my spirit to hear you finding rest.
