Place specific channels like /singapore and /berlin got quite good. Hobby specific channels like /bicycling and /itookaphoto were also good.

What are / were channels you think are 10/10?

Recently it feels like all my notifications are "user X casted for the first time in ages" and "shitcoin YYY is trending"

The golden moment for me was the channel-centric period of network optimisation, but this seems to have been replaced with the pursuit of some global maximas of power user posting and token <> posting activation.

Let me have my local maxima!

Very few, I rarely check @pol's and @shanemac.eth's Converse app because the protocol has no critical mass. Farcaster could give it that.

I've since disabled "Trending onchain" notifications here and haven't had an issue since. What blew my mind was that when the feature was added, it was enabled for me by default, and I realised none of my friends would ever take FC seriously while that was the case

That by default, notifications spam you with memecoin tickers and trending coins like some casino. Makes it impossible to recommend to normy friends.

ETH is not a good cult if everyone can openly challenge our leaders Vitalik, Drake, Dankrad or even low ranking officials like Sassano and Adams 

In 2021 even billionaires blindly submitted to people perceived to be part of the social layer

How do we fix this?

Not a frustration, but where do DCs in the protocol sit in priority right now? I’d imagine lower, but I know it was mentioned as a 2025 goal.

That's a good question. I think Ray Dalio's content is always good and he does the long form articles on Twitter.

From a usability standpoint, and this could just be a front-end thing that'd make the user experience better. If I go over the limit, why not auto-thread it for me?

new channel guidlines not allowing channel owners the choice between open and closed. I get that closed will foster a more tight knit community but channels like /memes dont need to foster a discussion, they just want users posting memes. idk, i get the rational, i just think there is room for both tight knit small communities and open large communites

i posted something unfavorable about them in the zora channel using this account, but i can’t view the post with my alternate account. i’m not sure whether it was farcaster that blocked me or the zora channel administrators who did.

Other than that I still find that even with a “safe” account label and views on my casts/engagements/etc ranking in the warpcast rewards (thank you for having them even if I cannot get on the leaderboard or move up at times with genuine content) it's hard. Somehow I still have many bots that follow me and those with fewer numbers on their accounts and the same amount of engagement rank so much higher.

Warpcast specific:

I know how to help folks with Level 0 spam labels who are clearly mislabeled by the algorithm, but I have no idea how to help those who’ve been stuck at Level 1 for a while and I don’t know what advice to give them.

I feel like the nav bar or battery indicator might be overlapping it in a weird way too. Super annoying.

Ah, so I'm not the only one having trouble hitting some icons.

The hitbox seems off.

Downloading images is a pain in the ass on Android. Takes me 10 or so attempts on average to hit the tiny hidden download button.

Video playback is janky. Most of the time the audio doesn't work, and even when it does after opening/closing it a few times, the progress bar for the video is completely broken and weird.
