For me it's knowing I can intellectually "hit high notes" that just don't come without slogging it. I haven't given up long enough to know if that ever comes back, bit it's reliably there on the other side of a coffee. (wow, that's a statement of addiction if ever there was one).

I do it for a month every year, 24h or 48h of withdrawal symptoms which usually mean headaches

Iโ€™ve quit coffee a few times in my life and the biggest adjustment is on energy level. Caffeine does give a boost but itโ€™s not a healthy boost. There are many other sources to help push energy. Iโ€™m currently back on coffee, though. ๐Ÿคฃ

I usually donโ€™t drink high-caffeine coffee. I go for coffee with a high Arabica content, and at most, 10% Robusta.
