Some fun facts about this West coast rain we're seeing. This type of storm is referred to as an "Atmospheric River" because of the horizontal movement of water that happens from offshore onto the mainland. Integrated Water Vapor Transport (IVT) is the measure of how much water moves per second. Below is a link to the current IVT values we are seeing. A lot of Southern California is seeing 800-1000 IVT which translates to 1000 kg of water moving 1m every second. Per ChatGTP:
Think of IVT like:
Rainfall rate = how hard water is falling right now
IVT = how powerful the supply pipeline feeding the storm is
A value of 1000 means the pipeline is wide open.

It’s a nice feeling after 1.5years in LA, to have some excursion and I went to the Getty. After the hustle and bustle of the week of work, it feels nice and hope it will inspire my creation on the plate next week.
