it's mostly pretty straightforward - redis for data storage, apis for conversations and messages etc

Would you mind detailing a bit why more nodes prevents eclipse attacks? Couldn’t the network topology still be conducive to collusion between nodes?

Farcaster relies on Ethereum for security, so the dishonest majority problem has far fewer implications.

You just need enough geo distributed hubs to prevent data loss or eclipse attacks and that number is probably 100-1000

How do you plan to really decentralise hubs long term. If it each hub is 20TB 128GB RAM and takes $1k a month to run, it seems only a few big FC clients are likely to run them. Or - is that an acceptable trade off?

We're not yet sure exactly what will be most high leverage, but likely some form of retroactive grants for helping grow qDAU.

The goal is to spend it in a way that helps the protocol grow. 

Practically, the cost of setting up a foundation doing the legal work etc, will cost a few hundred thousand dollars. So it doens't make sense to do it when the treasury is just ~ $1M. 

We're going to revisit this when closer to $5-10M.

This is something we need to clean up. 

There's a decent bit of video infra work that needs to be done before everything works nicely and streams efficiently.

Not sure I understand what videos are supported and where. Seems like videos uploaded via the API are supported on supercast etc, warpcast mobile, but not warpcast desktop. 

In general coordinating media consistency across apps and understand what is/isn’t supported will be helpful.

Protocol ideas that you have turned down (and why). I know it's a very peculiar request, but it would make me understand better your reasoning, pain points, etc. (And maybe help me with my future suggestions :-) )

Maybe more about how farcaster and apps do write operations - reads are much easier with hubs but writes can be confusing

how does shadowbanning and unahadowbanning work?  I have friends who just disappeared and are struggling to find their footing again.  it'd be good to know what they're actually "doing wrong" and if there's an automatic cool off for it so they can try again eventually?

Pretty confused about the concept of FID vs one’s social graph (and casts). For eg if I buy a FID, do I also get to own the FID’d social graph (and casts/reactions etc).
