Had my birthday today out on the water w family. Younger me would have been trying to measure ‘things’ or asking “what have I learned”. I now see it as naïveté, cringey and mostly useless.

But asking if younger me would be proud has been useful. A better audit: synthesis of choices made vs stats on paper.

Now this is a birthday ritual I can get behind. 

The less  “intangibles” become increasingly more significant the older you get.
