I spend most oh my afternoons looking at the momiji aka read leaves forecasts in Japan. This year I’ll start very far north in Hokkaido and work my way south for peak foliage in Kyoto. Kyoto is stunning any season but the nighttime illuminations of the leaves make it a magical place. Kiyomizu-dera, the temple of pure water, hosts this event in late November. You can see why it’s one of the most famous temples. Temples are normally closed after dark so it’s even more special. I only travel with my iPhone but I’ve been very happy with the last few cameras and can’t wait to try my new phone in this same location. Shot with iPhone 15ProMax.

Even I, who live in Japan, have never seen such a beautiful view! Wonderful. Is this blue light a light-up? It's so fantastical. I'm really impressed with the capabilities of the iPhone camera. It's like a photo taken by a professional photographer!
