A new year. A new beginning. A month of change. A low winter sun glows in the redwood forest. This was taken in January 2022. Wow, how time flies.

Painted By Nature, captured by me. In this age of AI images, people might this this unreal, but it’s completely real. This is Hverir, a geothermal hot spring field in northern Iceland, which I photographed with a drone in 2022. The colors come from sulfur, iron oxides, boiling mud, and superheated steam rising directly from the Earth’s crust. In a time when many images are synthetic, I find deep meaning in showing what our planet actually creates on its own. Geology doesn’t need fantasy as it already tells an extraordinary story. And this image is also an NFT that was minted as editions on Sloika back in the day.
