MTV was a cultural institution that changed music, fashion, and youth culture.
Then they stopped showing music videos and became reality TV.
I felt a wave of sadness when the announcement hit. Nothing felt like it could fill that void.
So I started coding.

MTV Rewind is proof that proof that the internet wants to feel like a place again.
I'll see you there.

Did you know…..
Flex 💪 builds.
While MTV Rewind is the most popular and viral thing I’ve ever created I’ve been coding and creating content for years.
My goal now is simple (kind of)- build a way back to a better era of the internet in the age of algorithmic exhaustion.

When the chips are down the best things I've done in life are get out of my comfort zone, travel and connect with the people that I share an affinity with in this space.
That's how I feel about making sure I'm at @farcon this year in Rome.
Seeing the caliber of who will be there, you wouldn't regret it either.

remembered.
The method — Research · Annotate · Document — is the process that makes the archive possible.
The result — a Relational Archive of Data — is what the methodology produces: not a catalog,...

I grew up 10 miles outside a town of 12,000 people. In the woods. In Oregon.
There was no culture around me. No scene except a handful of rebellious skate punks. No indication that the world I suspected existed actually did.
MTV told me it did.
Not the internet. Not yet. Just a cable channel that came on late at nig...

Every archive that matters was built by someone who decided culture was worth preserving more than the paperwork was worth filing.
The Library of Alexandria didn't have a TOS.
