Similar ideas, but I would say "growth mindset" (Carol Dweck's) is functional while "infinite games" is existential - why grow at all.

Growth mindset: I'm not good at piano yet but can improve with practice.
Infinite games: I don't play piano for applause. I play out of love for music and I never want to stop playing.

I haven't read that book. Do "infinite games" (playing with boundaries) map onto what's now called a "growth mindset"?

I borrowed a friend's copy a long time ago to read it, but if I had a physical copy this would be the edition I want. I like the cover art.

It served as the inspiration. I haven't read it yet. But I know that Infinite Game adapts the concepts into Simon Sinek's more practical business/leadership frameworks. Finite and Infinite Games reads more like an abstract philosophy book.
