I think the good thing about Threads is that it normalizes short text social. Most people have stayed away from Twitter because they don't get it. There's still a long way to go.

I didn’t have much hope for Threads unless they really embedded it into Instagram. They’re doing much better than I thought they would be. I see the Thread posts on my Instagram feed.

I like its more civil space, but its very one note in the experience as a whole tbh and its doesn't feel like they are investing in it. Unlike WC/FC which feels like a truth platform being built to take on incumbents.

I joined Threads early, but didn't really do much with it until around April/May of this year. Even had a thread go viral. But then I spent some time in the hospital in May, and by the time I got out, there was a definite shift that had happened in the content there. The Bear discourse had invigorated things and it was a lot of fun, but the shift after that was towards a much more adversarial culture, which is something I'm tired of.
