Since he's been bashing Google for some time now, it's hard to interpret this as anything other than cope. Especially since Google's offerings make their Dia browser efforts look like child play. Google announced a bunch of experimental apps at Google I/O. It's hard to remember any of their names. The place to find them is at: https://labs.google/experiments and https://labs.google.com/search/ They also have gemini.google.com, aistudio.google.com and notebooklm.google.com Good that they've been trying a lot of stuff but they're all over the place. You can tell that they've mandated teams across the entire company to build AI powered experimental apps. Many of them will end up in the Google Graveyard. They need a clear and simple entry point for consumers. IMO Google Search. I used stitch.withgoogle.com to generate designs for a microblogging social media app and it generated it with tech and crypto trending topics for me. It actually personalized the generated design the design likely based on my past searches and maybe Gemini interactions.

jules.google is neat. Just asked it to find and fix some bugs on my personal site while I was driving. It sent me a PR. Now I wish GitHub had a much better mobile experience.

Google better have a mic drop moment in tomorrow's I/O. I don't think model capabilities alone will cut it though. They need to be able to deliver a great experience end-to-end on top of the models. That's their weakness, which they need to overcome.
