creator coins in it of themselves are a good idea
that’s not the part people hate
the parts people hate:
-1984 levels of doublespeak
-the number shown on the orb app is almost never the number you actually get out (if you show someone they have a dollar and they get .95 cents not counting fees, that’s fraud), txns are batched seemingly for obfuscation purposes, basescan txn pages are almost impossible to read
-only the top 1% win(base employee or closely affiliated, minus a few)
-saying your the next big thing with literally nothing to back it up, trading revenue models would do better on Solana or BSC, base has a volume problem and you aren’t backing the people w the most volume on ur protocol
-you can’t continue to hurt folks and expect them to just eat it; look at todays lmts launch
-you just take other people’s ideas and pretend they don’t exist, “build on base” but it’s actually top down PvP
I’m not exactly sure where along the lines clanker fell out of favor or why but base has been really good to us, and largely supportive, and it saved ethereum imo
I don’t think it’s over and airing of the grievances is necessary, but after the last few months I almost want to build explicitly for the l1 so I feel like less of an asshole 15 replies

This is the reality: I am a small creator who created his Zora creator coin practically when he started. I have been working tirelessly. I am a writer, and I try to educate many people through publications on DeFi and trading, yield farming, etc., valuable content, or what I personally believe to be positive.
And as you can see in the image, that volume is laughable, and it's practically me doing it myself. The promise made by Base employees that we will all win together, just like the creator of Zora, is only a facade, because the only ones who win are them. A small creator like me will never have a chance, but they always deceive the rest with their words.
There's no room for small players here, except in rare cases. You have to be a developer to have opportunities. If you're not an artist, someone with a lot of capital, or the creator of an app that goes viral, you're dead. It happens with creator coins, on the Farcaster leaderboard, and everywhere else. 0 reply
