Do you find there’s different resonance depending on what social media the person is already used to? A friend of mine recently asked to use my phone to browse Farcaster because she was curious. She was first confused by the vertical scrolling and text-based posting. I said it’s like X, and she said she’d never been on X before. Then she was confused by the channels. I said it’s line subreddits, and she said she’d never been on Reddit before. She has only used Instagram and TikTok. On the other hand, another person who had the same ask and previously used (and loved) X and Reddit got it right away and joined.

I feel like decentralized in a crypto sense is not appealing but if you explain to people that they can take their followers to the next platform that would seem very appealing. Everyone I know hates Twitter now and I’m sure they would be ecstatic if they could move all that over to an Elon free Twitter.

always good to keep in mind, I've run into the wall of trying to pitch FC and crypto for the reasons I got into it self custody, decentralization, immutable source of truth, blah blah people respond much better to dopamine hits and the promise of money

Decentralized social maybe not. But what if instead of decentralized social you say you can't get deplatformed, kicked off, and your friends and followers are literally yours forever. Just a better way to say decentralized social.
