The scariest thing I’ve seen lately is “Loch Henry” from Black Mirror. Also, South Korean films like the Mrs Vengeance Trilogy or Audition are quite something. Sometimes (most of the time?) they can be too sensationalist.

The Strangers (2008) with Liv Tyler is a pretty good one. I guess it's the fact that the scenario depicted could happen to anyone that's the most frightening aspect of it.
