I've been watching this great doc on the history of funk. Fun fact: Dayton, Ohio has a population of less than 150k even today, but produced a ton of influential bands: - Ohio Players - Zapp & Roger - Lakeside - Faze-o - Heatwave many more

Music promo trend most people aren't aware of: The most reliable way to build an audience is to effectively Sybil attack the feed with fake fan & curator accounts. There are even companies industrializing the process. More evidence advertising should be progressively taxed imho.

I live a block from the Fonda theater and walked past while Paul McCartney was playing on Saturday. Crazy list of celebrities were inside. Surprisingly wasn’t even a crowd out front and didn’t see any paparazzi or heavy security. Venue is only 1200 capacity.

Project Hail Mary review: Core story was very faithful to the book. Incredible VFX. Mostly good writing but the trend of every character in big budget action movies sounding like aspiring comedians is exhausting and forced. 4 stars
