I gave Claude a link-safety tool and set it to "always allow." It never ran on its own.
"Always allow" only removes the approval click. Whether to call the tool is still the model's choice.
The fix was a hook that checks every link I paste and hands Claude the verdict before it reads my message.

Claude Code deletes terminal session transcripts after 30 days.
Keep them: add "cleanupPeriodDays": 3650 to ~/.claude/settings.json
Two things the tip skips:
1. Desktop and Cowork sessions are already kept
2. Kept transcripts keep every secret you ever pasted. Check what your backups copy.
