imho you should provide as many options as possible Phone isn't really a great verification but if you're oké with it you can allow it Can you use my coinbase onchain attestion? It doesn't get more real than that since it's tied to kyc'd coinbase account and it saves me providing yet another party with details I rather not want them to have. I’ve been using the same wallet for over 5 years now. You can see my on-chain history — it’s public. I can understand stopping fresh wallets but the idea that you have no other way to verify a user’s “realness” is lazy and disappointing.

degens can tolerate friction, imo. we're early adopters by nature. what population are you trying to /exclude/ with this? what are you actually trying to achieve? yes, i heard the bit about ✨effortless onboarding✨ but i'm confused; if your tam is no larger than farcaster itself - ie, degen client will only ever be a subset of the whole userbase - why not just use SIWF? unless you're worried about bots. in which case i'd ask: why are you already worried about bots? they're attracted to automatic incentives. re-imagining allowances might reduce the problem you're trying to avoid.

gitcoin passport? Coinbase EAS? check onchain transaction history? even EF checks your passport score before selling devcon tickets, phone verification seems like the least imaginative and worst available solution in web3
