If I had to bet on centralized versus decentralized social winning, I always pick decentralized. Open tech usually beats closed tech in the long run, because the surface area for innovation is bigger. It might look slower early, but it compounds. Farcaster is a good example of why. It’s been the launchpad for so many great projects, Degen included. It still feels unreal that we could go from a $5k liquidity pool to over a $1B market cap. That doesn’t happen on closed platforms with fragile permissions and opaque rules. That happens when the graph is open, builders can ship without asking, and users actually own their social presence. The fact that @vitalik.eth is active here is not trivia either. One of the sharpest minds in crypto chooses to show up in this arena. That tells you where serious experimentation is happening. And the “come for the tool, stay for the network” approach makes sense. Most people don’t join a new social network because they want a new social network. They join because there’s something useful to do. If a wallet is the on ramp that gets people funded, transacting, and feeling real utility first, great. What really matters is that the underlying social graph stays decentralized and composable. You get more users, more builders, and more clients competing to make something that blows people away. Long term, I think Farcaster wins, probably through a third-party client that nails the experience for norms. Maybe it’s @zapper, maybe @baseapp.base.eth, maybe Farcaster itself, maybe the Degen app. Whoever ships the product that feels inevitable will pull the next wave in. And because the stack is open, that wave won’t be captured by one company’s roadmap. It will belong to the whole ecosystem. We’re early, we’re all experimenting, and that’s the point. Decentralized social is the soil where weird ideas become future. We keep building.

Every tip now strengthens the $DEGEN ecosystem. From now on, every tip you send on the Degen App will burn 10% of its value. Tipping no longer is just supporting your favorite creator, it’s also shrinking the $DEGEN supply & building a stronger token ecosystem. Tip. Burn. Repeat.
