If we added one feature to channels to make this more likely? https://warpcast.com/0xen/0x45fc4b8b

token-gated channels (would give you channel subscriptions for free via STP https://docs.withfabric.xyz/stp/gating)

custom emoji reactions :D and maybe roles. similar to how you have the nouns and builderdao icons for both of those channels, channel leads could define parameters for people in their channel to get similar special icons

coming from someone that ran through the entire discord nft saga - channel roles (admin, moderator) - sub channels - token gating - read only sub channels

Not a feature per se, but can describe the experience one may need to make this happen. When I navigate to a channel, give me the feeling of entering a house with multiple rooms, where each room has a group of people actively chatting. And I can pick which room to drop into and join in the conversation, real time.

Not sure the โ€œ1 featureโ€, sorry, but colab tools for AMA, or mod tools. Simplification of importing external sources to internal channel source. Kinda how Cosmos has an extension for inspo boards.

Everyone saying token-gated as their preferred method of privacy: Are you imagining a world with no moderation, or tokens that can be burned?

token-gating is the best option. the one thing I specifically don't want is a real time chat feature. keep it async.

Group direct cast DMs & Polls would help ๐Ÿค™ Right now /chicago uses TG to work out logistics for meet ups ๐Ÿค” 1. We don't want to clog the channel with back & forth deciding 2. Do I want to pay for casts just to say that time doesn't work for me 3. We use polls to determine dates/times

Token gating and channel architectures. Within the parent channel, a way to have admin roles, a broadcast only sub-channel, chat sub and admin-only subs for backchanneling during live community events or big campaigns. Discord drives me, but the structure allows me to build small communities well.

imo what makes discord so popular for community management is its rich feature set. We prolly need more than 1 or 2 features to make this happen. A few that comes on top of my mind 1. Option to controll access to channles 2. Subchannels & roles based access 3. Support for vc 4. A client with plugin support
