Quick poll -- would you implement a Farcaster proof for your personal website if this was implemented? https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/106

I can't shake the idea that building the replacement for Keybase was the plan from the beginning

No. I left a comment to suggest another approach that I would use.

Txt records are certainly better for just domain ownership verification. I think in the long run there might be more functionality where a .well-known could be useful. I went to far ahead in my thinking, let’s just keep it simple.

I am not certain I would trust the displayed domains at a glance, as this seems susceptible to someone using similar-but-not-the-same URLs to masquerade as the legitimate account. The blue check checkmark of Twitter was useful because there was a manual review process that (I assumed) would catch issues like that.

I like the idea. However, if association is not enforced, I think that most people will get scammed no matter what. (I see @projectabcd posting something, how do I know if they are impersonating or just projectabcmd did not connect the fid with their website? After a while I'll probably ignore it, esp as a new user.)
