Starting to feel like being in crypto for too long might actually be a disadvantage. You optimize for things that probably don’t matter to real people and focus on topics and trends that are likely distracting to the big picture. I have an immense amount of gratitude and respect for the impact crypto has had on my life and career But these days find myself feeling less inspired and motivated by trading and the price of crypto than ever before

it sometimes feels like it’s always a small circle of people, which is great but it’s exhausting lol. these days i found myself doing more ig and tiktok again. there’s also more diversity in terms of audiences and at least, for what im trying to do, i feel more understood. but the exhaustion comes in cycles. i’m sure after the summer i’ll feel ok again.

Same fam, I feel like we’re possibly experiencing some major narrative shift, bear might also be right behind the corned. Idk where this will lead, but (as always) I hope it’ll be for the best, meanwhile I’m just happy to talk to mi frens🖤

in crypto, it feels like we're in the 'valley of despair' more often than not.

I think this can feel true for almost any tech. Early PCs, internet, even AI. It’s easy to overestimate the value of what’s possible, and underestimate the value of what’s useful. But those who stick with it and evolve w/ thr learnings are now the titans of today.

This is exactly how I feel when I see everybody jumping on the Creator coins trend. Like it's barely working for a single company, why would it work for the next dozen? There are not enough devs focused on new use-cases, just liquidity, and on top of that they're grasping at straws

I think you’re overthinking it. all that knowledge has likely compounded and created strong product intuitions that most wouldn’t have. being early is not a handicap

i resonate with your post coopah, and i started with crypto in october 2013. throughout these 12 years i've learned a lot, and i have seen many things rise and fall. at the end, real value remains rare in this space

epic demonstration of self-awareness most people live this pattern and never notice it they don’t see that their then meta— the mindset or trend that shaped them— is not the now meta there’s an extraordinary moment in the david geffen documentary geffen came up during the folk music boom at some point he realized the kids weren’t into folk anymore they were into metal and instead of doubling down on folk and saying the kids don’t appreciate real music he had the self-awareness to look at what was actually happening he stopped optimizing for the reality he grew up in he got out of the way of the new metal meta that kind of adaptive self-awareness is rare especially in crypto because the biggest financial rewards have often gone to those with a fixed mindset the ones who found their digital gold like early bitcoin and clung to it with religious conviction the crypto koalas who discovered a perfect grove of bitcoin eucalyptus and decided to hodl and never to leave no matter how many new promising trees sprang up around them at the core of crypto culture is the survivor bias of the most stubborn hodler mentality it doesn’t often produce people willing— or even able— to have this kind of self-aware revelation

I’m slowly pushing myself back in. I went though quite a period where I was totally disgruntled about it all. Trying to focus on happiness and things that make me happy. Certain things about crypto still make me happy, eg I still believe in DAOs and know they can work. (Somehow, someday)

Well it is a constructed topic fully inherited from web3 tech in which everything at every stage should be subject to capital value (lol). Specifically music do not work like that. Destroys emotional value.

Sometimes a step back can be really beneficial. Reframe and realign. Touch grass and watch the sunset instead of a chart. You’re here for a reason, sometimes a break allows us to see that reason more clearly.

Relatable. The longer you’re in the game, the easier it is to drift into echo chambers—obsessing over narratives, micro-trends, and signals that most people don’t even register. I’ve felt that shift too.

I totally feel you. Being deep in crypto can sometimes disconnect you from real world priorities. It’s okay to evolve. Remember the hype fades, but the impact stays. You are actually making impact. Thank you very much
