One final launch: today we published our story and learnings building Foundation, Rodeo, and Aura over the past 6 years. https://foundation-labs.xyz/story While we ultimately couldn't make these products work as durable venture-scale businesses, I remain deeply optimistic about both the underlying technology (blockchains as permissionless global ledgers) and its role in powering a different type of internet where ownership & provenance matter. We hope these lessons prove useful to the next generation of builders, creators, collectors, and curators. Thank you to everyone who tried our products, gave us feedback, and trusted us with your work. Your passion, creativity, and optimism is what kept us going. To our alumni: y'all rock. We couldn't have done this without you. s/o my cofounders @kayvon @dappboi.eth for copy + design.

Project Hail Mary πŸ‘Œ I usually prefer the darker sci-fi movies but this was very well done and was warming without being cheesy. High recommend.

This blog post from Noah Smith is such a good read to understand why the recent @warpcast channel changes are so powerful, and why a decentralized social media protocol like @farcaster is important long term. https://www.noahpinion.blog/p/the-internet-wants-to-be-fragmented

My 2c on Farcaster vs Warpcast & how it relates to building a multi-client protocol: πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Clients don’t always have to read all state or perform all writes. ETH has multiple client types, and FC protocol can too. 🌏 Under this framework, the protocol already has a much richer ecosystem of clients than it gets credit for. All mini-apps (FKA frames) are clients utilizing some combo of FC's social graph, content, associated wallets, DCs...etc. 🌐 I view Warpcast as a hub through which we view & interact with the FC protocol, not some global reference implementation every other clients has to emulate to give or get value. This has already been true for some time now, and rebranding the app to Farcaster just makes it more clear. 🫡 Permissionless data (and to some extent, writes) means anyone can still build any type of client they want, including one has the exact functionality as Warpcast, just like anyone can choose to run/write any ETH client they want. Thx for coming to my TED talk.
