yes, it's also connected with the sackler with more ancient history related exhibits (mesopotamia, middle east, asia, etc.) and is also next to the castle as well!, great "bang" for your free buck!

holocaust museum is one of the newer ones so comes on a bit strong imo with what is already a very obviously heavy subject matter, hard to say it's one to "enjoy" but certainly an experience!

Took kids to air and space when they were young. Was considering maybe holocaust museum- have you been there? 

Is Freer gallery this: Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art ?

freer gallery has always been my favorite with its older understated building and intimate collections compared to the pomp(s?) of the newer mega museums

then with younger kids i'd say air & space, with older kids the national portrait gallery and if you're desperate to pay money to visit a museum in DC the spy museum!

You just sparked a memory. I wish I could still recommend the Newseum but it closed in 2019. Big bummer. I absolutely loved that place

As I posted, I asked myself if I would still feel the same. I lean towards agreeing with you but also would love to see another space like this. It was a reminder and an education how much good journalists put on the line for us

I recently went to the Glenstone in MD. I like the Phillips collection and  the Corcoran. And then finally just went to the Bonsai Penjing Museum at the Arboretum. 

Some are close to DC some are not 😂

So many... Air and Space Museum and Chinese American Museum

The spy museum! And American History museum

I have never been, but i do know of great things in the Smithsonian. Perhaps I would see them one day
