Sometimes I feel like Geronimo - not the warrior, the beaver.
You know, the one Idaho Fish & Game kept dropping out of planes in the late 1940s to test whether wooden boxes (with air holes!) and surplus WWII parachutes could safely deliver beavers into the wilderness.
Geronimo went through multiple test flights, packed neatly in his little hinged crate, parachuting down again and again until they perfected a system that popped open on impact so he could waddle off like nothing happened.
That beaver was a pioneer.
A fuzzy little crash-test dummy with dreams of freedom.
Some days, I too am just along for the ride — strapped to a decades-old parachute, hoping the box opens when I hit the ground.

Francine the cat walked into a Lowe’s in Richmond back in 2017.
On Sept 18, she accidentally boarded a freight truck and vanished into a 1.5 million sq ft distribution center.
At first, not everyone at the facility was eager to help but once the community rallied, everything changed.
Now, thanks to the internet and a lot of heart, Lowe’s has gone full Mission Impossible:
• Thermal drones
• Six infrared cameras
• Morning briefings for workers
• Footage reviews across the facility
There’s even an Instagram — @wheresfrancine — leading the charge to bring her home.
It’s proof that the best tech isn’t about innovation for innovation’s sake — it’s about how people use it to care.
Here’s hoping Francine finds her way home soon. 😭🐾

Help I’ve somehow attracted the attention of the executive chef, who personally came out from the kitchen to hand-deliver me gloves so I could eat my lobster with my bare hands.
And yes… that is a lobster bib 🥹🥰
