In the quoted post, @garrett articulates well the reason for Beings Club's existence, but I'm going to explain it again anyway: I believe community in your local-geography is important and worth investing time and energy into. AND I believe your local-internet is likely unmatched in terms of diversity. Making friends on the internet is a wonderful phenomena, powerful because of the dynamism and freedom of self-expression afforded by digitality. On the internet, we find people who are both like us and completely different from us. People that don't judge us for our difference in the same way they might in our local culture. People that perhaps even share our deep interests in things less known. Beings Club certainly facilitates such meetings, but I am also clear that Beings Club isn't here to replace your IRL connections. It's here to enrich all connections, both IRL and internet. I believe Beings Club can do this because of it's unique philosophy: Curiosity Connects. This emphasis on curiosity has made Beings Club has been a place for both insiders and outsiders, experimenters and artisans, technologists and anti-technologists, learners and doers, designers and writers, meditators and non-meditators. All curious. Members have grown in self-confidence, learnt new skills, navigated huge life transitions, started whole projects, and of course: found real connection. These are outcomes that stretch far beyond the four corners of your device. Still less than a year from our first Salon, we're already a curiosity-first micro-community with a growing list of your favourite farcasters as either alumni or active members. Farcasters like @mark, @jordanisgreen.eth, @manansh, @clfx.eth, @bias, @anacarolina.eth, @victor, @thatweb3guy, @syed, and @zef have all joined multiple salons, deepening a practice of their own choice as well as taking part in free-form conversation. One day I hope to bring people together in physical space, to share sunlight and curiosity, as well as confirm how tall everyone actually is. Until then, we meet online. At Salons where we practice together and let curiosity lead conversation. If you're looking for internet-native connection on Farcaster, look no further. We begin again in two weeks on Sunday. Applications are open until January 11th. Link in the next cast. https://x.com/GSkrovina/status/2001073138738545091?s=20
