Herniated a disc in my back yesterday in an unfortunate soccer collision and wow, I have never felt anything this horrible in my life. Taking any and all recs from people who have recovered from back injuries. πŸ’›

Only recommendation I have is get it checked by a professional. Don't take our advice, we know nothing about the seriousness of your injury. That said, from what I heard from people that had it, 1cm is usually the threshold between "therapy will solve it" and "have to get an operation". Depends on the disc, of course. Again, I'm not a professional.

Back injuries are the worst. Steer clear of opioids. I’ve had more success with an osteopath over a physiotherapist or chiropractor.

I see you've already gotten some good advice (e.g., "get it checked by a pro") but FWIW, I injured my back last month and for a couple of days I could barely even move. A heating pad helped some, but Tiger Balm was the only thing that really worked in my case. https://warpcast.com/danicaswanson/0x78af8889

Get an MRI so you know what shape the disc is actually in, and dont let a chiropractor near you. Usually a steroid course works the first time you do this

Heating pads and acupuncture. My brain doesn’t believe in acupuncture but it’s the only thing that helps my back.

not to be messed with as many have said. dr, and treatment. wife has chronic back pain. (from a lifetime of gymnastics) it is 'no bueno' rest, therapy, shots -> surgery is our next option.

Do what the doctor says, take care of yourself and rest etc. I've had a long road myself and was able to stay active duty in the military (usually people get kicked out after the first because they can't maintain the physical standards). Feel free to reach out anytime
