Never been able to. Usually what I'll try to do is copy and paste a screen to the right with each successive edit, so I can see the full history of my work. And then once I have something I'm happy with I put it all the way over on the right and draw a big line across the file so it's clear to others which one is the final iteration. If I make updates I just move the line after I'm done.

"screens" page:
unique screens numbered in rows, with states as letters:
01a, 01b, 01c
02a, 02b
03a, 03b, 03c, 03d
and so on. eg. 01a would be the farcaster feed and b, c, d, etc would be all the different states it could have. 02 profile. 03 settings. 04 wallet. and so on
"ref" page:
a chaotic mess of inspiration, notes, and iteration
all elements within a frame meticulously named
people who think they dont have time to maintain proper file hygiene 1) have never worked on a team with other designers, 2) have never had to make major changes over time and, 3) have skill issues
respect the game

Nope. At some point, it’s a fool’s errand. A neurotic need with no goal except exercising itself.
In my experience, it’s a function of who you were working with that sets the tone. That needs to be explicit communication about what’s where, and a mutual understanding that they’re usually better ways to spend once time than naming layers.
Large design teams are different than small product teams are different than freelancers.

I have a couple of files that I use.
Recently started using pages in them. That helps.
But some pages have names like "memes", so yeah, there's clutter.
