The most important thing a parent can do is spend time with their kid.
Get to know them, encourage them, and teach them. If you show your kid how to be genuinely curious and kind, you will share the same passions with not just your kid, but everyone and everything around you...
Many people do not have a friend, role model, or moral framework growing up, and that is very sad. A confused child ends up a passionless adult.
Look...
As a kid, I did not have a relationship with my father.
- He had the characteristics of a narcissist. Anytime I was with him, he was laid back, goofing off, or yapping. Which resulted in bickering and complaining with my Mom... Which created a dynamic of negativity towards everything..
So, I started growing a hatred toward my dad. Him always talking over everyone, being the center of attention, or being straight selfish. It's all I saw.
Then, I grew up...
And learned the other perspective. 0 reply
