Likely getting $125 in leaderboard rewards this week, and I want to pay it forward to supporting creators. I noticed many videos here don’t have captions. It’s a small edit that makes a big difference for viewers. Captioning apps on mobile are convenient, but they aren’t free. So I’m thinking I’d like to sponsor a few creators’ caption app subscriptions. Two questions: - What are the best mobile apps for captions you’re using? - What’s a fair way to pick who gets it? (I’m thinking: people who’ve already casted at least one video for Farcaster that isn’t recycled from existing social media, with demonstrated intent to create more.)

CapCut for sure, it has an auto CC feature that creates the captions with the timings for you, that you can then edit pretty easily.

best mobile apps that aren't CapCut are Captions (by Captions.ai) or MixCaptions or I honestly just use TikTok to autogenerate captions for me. Descript is for desktop and best for podcast editors, not for the average creator.

I got really put off by CapCut when I heard that even using the app just for drafts could mean they claim rights of your content. I’m not sure if that’s a rumor or actually true, but I was about to get the yearly subscription when this news came out, and now I’m hesitant.

Love this idea! I've only used CapCut and Canva. I find Canva kind of difficult to work with for video (but maybe I'm just not practiced enough). Also heard good things about Captions.ai!

Capcut and Adobe express are the best apps. And I believe distribution among people that have already casted is the best idea.

I paid for Inshot last week. Before that, I used CapCut. I prefer Inshot because it's simple and straightforward. Some might say it doesn't have as many options as CapCut but that's why I prefer Inshot—it's simplicity.

I know many are recommending CapCut but they did also just recently update their terms of service to say they basically have unlimited rights to use any of your content that you *upload* to their platform — something to look into if those kind of things concern you (rightfully so). I’m mostly adding captions on my laptop, it’s just faster & more flexible for me. On that front, there’s a couple of options you could explore: Descript, OpusClips, NexusClips & Munch
