I want humanity to be able to have the same level of optimism that we have for Arts / culture / humanities as we have for techno-optimism

Which way round do you mean this? Do you think we are currently lacking in techno optimism? Or lacking optimism towards the arts etc?

Yes, and visa versa. I know many are optimistic about humanities and pessimistic about technology. I want them to know that it’s not a competition, and that pessimism won’t balance their universe.

Using “techno-optimism” assumes humanity agrees with Andreesen’s manifesto. I personally found it very dark and pessimistic despite the title. 😕

Optimism is contagious,so each of us have a role to play in whatever we want to see in the world. We need to spread more of that we need to see until others have no option but to join us in our adventure .

I think the optimism we have for art / culture and tech is the same. But they are mostly mutually exclusive groups of people. People who are techno optimists don’t care about art and culture and people who are art / culture optimists don’t care about tech.
