the thinking was, since we'll be visiting my parents in a couple weeks we'd just unleash them on their grandparents... but i didn't think how tough these two weeks could be 🤣

Im dying.  The kids camp is across town so it’s two hours every morning to drop them off.  Then sailing class from 6-10 MTW this week, usually in bed around 1130.

Next week my kids split up so it’ll be 2 hours there AND back

But to be fair... we outsourced them to their grandparents.

What I’m trying this year

- no camp? Library first thing in the morning for 2 hours and without phone
- done other stuff than loafing around? Weekend trip in Sep/Oct
- acceptable curfew adapted to the local culture with clear rules of how to get an exception

Last year I had other kids over nearly every day, sand everywhere because of the beach, not announced white nights etc. There was a lack of “meeting in the middle” and respecting that I don’t have 10 weeks off

Lol yes this is a shared mindset with my child

All rules and routine out the window

Day 4? We’re day 17 out of 78 days

Week 1: horror. Kids belief this myth that holidays = I can do whatever I want. And that doesn’t work

Week 2: better the first 5 days

What is the theme? Summers with a theme much more memorable to kids and us.

hasn’t been easy raising @teesparty but he’s a good boy with such a bright future. i’ll keep doing my best

- finished a wk of farm camp
- started this kind of wilderness activities and sports camp
- had some beach days
- crushing summer reading (100+ books)
- attended pokemon go fest
- this weekend going to a comic book author fest

Being a medical student and also the association president is a lot, ngl.

Actively preparing for OBGYN and pediatric professional exam but still have an office to run.

Don’t particularly have a child yet but it’s been really demanding looking after 700 young boys and girls. How are you holding up?
