Everyone's wallet balance is public, but I have no idea what the total onchain net worth is of really anyone in my network. I am surprised that, given how much crypto is financialized, this "total onchain net worth" number isn't more publicly flaunted

People don’t generally go around telling people how much they earn and the value of their investments and cash, either. It’s rude, for one thing. It makes other people feel like garbage. And it makes them a target for thieves. Is on-chain any different?

Most try to hide that instead of show it, I have 15 different wallets, like 3 of them are public and I make sure they never come in contact with the other ones For various reasons

wait, I took this question as an invitation to look up your total onchain net worth via your publicly connected wallet address. Am a bit puzzled why you asked this question, since your own public balance (and composition) suggests why this number is not coherent with other social signals we get elsewhere

it's a really weird juxtaposition with some of the perceived + real lizard brain behaviour crypto has been the social circle where the class / wealth boundaries seem least pronounced in person tbh which always is hard to comprehend

Hard to pull off technically. Most people use several wallets and should definetly not store anything of value on the hot wallet connected to farcaster or other dApps. I usually have a new deployer wallet for each contract I’ve made, hot-wallet for NFT trading, DeFi wallet, staking wallet, cold storage for valuables.

pretty sure most people don't even know their own onchain net worth given how many NFTs we all mint and lose track of + the massive amount of bridging and locking up funds in various places to try out new ecosystems and products.

From a data perspective, it’s difficult to track the value of a wallet across all assets, protocols, and chains. A few places do this really well but it’s limited to a single address input vs say show me the onchain net worth of all addresses that have linked to Farcaster.

It’s because big names will make it a point not to be easily identified and will create many wallets and fund them through different means. Some will probably doxx only one wallet like Arthur Hayes & many others. Maybe eventually we’ll have wallets ranked like Forbes list.
