One hard thing about solo dev with ai is that ai thinks everything you suggest is a great idea, especially from a product perspective and you get no critical feedback and its easy to get lost in the sauce.

i keep asking it for crazier and crazier recipe ideas and it keeps egging me on me > "what if i cook a steak in mustard" gpt > "thats a great idea" me > "can i poach an egg in coffee" gpt > "yes you can and yes you should" me > "how about chocolate in a chile verde" gpt > "i love that for you, try this:" i haven't tried any of these, i think i'm afraid of feeling really stupid when it comes out tasking obviously horrible

this has not been the case for me using o3. at least on a technical level it has ignored requests or suggested alternatives a handful of times

You can ask the model to play devils advocate on why the feature you’re suggesting is a bad idea before building it, I find that helpful Especially if you help it calibrate on a particular tone and level of nitpicking beforehand and store that role as a reusable prompt

Grok can definitely provide some opposing views. Especially if you ask it to. Sometimes without you even asking.

Sometimes I feel I have a great idea, I pitch it to the AI and task it to find the risks of my idea. Very often I get legal stuff and user data storage to be the number one thing that stop me from building. As a solo dev, I want to focus on the dev stuff and never have to worry about the rest. Big gap for me to fill an don’t know where to start
