few things are more inefficient than the time between finishing a meal and paying the bill. if you could check in to a restaurant and open a tab with your wallet, you could pay and leave whenever you want. when an order is placed, the funds move to escrow. if you walk out and forget to close, a smart contract executes a transfer to the restaurant's address after a reasonable amount of time. if you send something back to the kitchen, the restaurant can set a split for the item to refund from the escrow balance. https://zora.co/collect/zora:0x5abf0c04ab7196e2bdd19313b479baebd9f7791b/236

there are places here where you can do this you get a QR code at the table with your tab open and you can close it using your crypto card or whatever whenever you're done and don't wait for anyone

I think you're describing the ideal cafeteria experience, not the ideal restaurant experience (at least for me). Regardless, I like the moral symmetry of the wait staff being able to make you wait sometimes too.

A bit complex and can be iterated. But this is a smart idea for places with a lot of user churn. Makes the process faster.

Makes sense but there are many cons to this, from accessibility, to volatility of crypto, down to implementing the refunds part, it just becomes complicated
