Question for the FC intelligensia: Why don't we have more apps launching onchain? https://x.com/dabit3/status/1917589833628713399

Not enough users. A large % of cryptonatives -- with audiences -- would rather pontificate about the forthcoming consumer onboarding wave on Twitter than spend time using the apps. Cycle repeats.

I’m working on one right now. My goal is to make the crypto parts undetectable to a normie. I think the key to this is using embedded wallets, sponsored gas, no fiat on-ramps required. If we get one good mass market example of a frictionless crypto experience in an app/game others will follow.

Two reasons: Because people sell onchain as the feature not the infrastructure. This immediately limits the market. And then if we’re being honest with ourselves, the majority of builders building onchain are building for a narrow audience of gamblers.

lots of headwinds to build and distribute onchain apps that feel like normal apps genuinely believe that mini apps can change this so I anticipate big growth here this year
