Question for the FC intelligensia: Why don't we have more apps launching onchain?

We need more apps.

It's insanity that after 10 years we've still barely seen any crypto / blockchain apps go mainstream, yet companies are still rebuilding the same programming environments over and over expecting a different result.

Now we have close to 1,000 L1s and L2s,

Not enough users.

A large % of cryptonatives -- with audiences -- would rather pontificate about the forthcoming consumer onboarding wave on Twitter than spend time using the apps.

Cycle repeats.

Can't cross the chasm unless you reach saturation with early adopters.

Building a crypto app for mainstream is still more friction / worse than a normal web2 app. That may change, but not there today.

So only path is winning a large % of crypto.

they don't use the apps and then what happens? They don't see what's wrong and needs fixing? They don't lead by example?

With embedded wallets, sponsored gas, and cheap L2s we should now be able to embed crypto rails into apps and it appear frictionless. Farcaster/Warpcast is a perfect example but we need more apps in novel/underexplored markets.
