Hi all. Still planning on going, but want to reach out: I've been told that there are zero accomodations for anons.

Is that true? I'll deal, if so. Just a bummer. Really want to feel comfy, ya know?

I'm not really sure. I was only told there aren't accomodations. Not what are usually the case.

Nah, lodging and transit are no problem.

But like, how necessary is my government name?

Is the issue that you can't get a hotel room or AirBNB, or that no one will let you crash with them?

Back when I did PAX regularly, we were all anon; we only knew each other by our handles. And we'd have 2-4 strangers in each hotel room.

We are notifying all photographers/attendees that anons may be present and giving everyone who wants to be anon a coloured sticker to cover the PFPs on your badges

Everyone will know those with the coloured stickers are not meant to be photographed or posted publicly anywhere

I forgot where I saw this, but someone recommended that when you meet people, you can introduce yourself by your govvy name OR your FC name. Just depends on who you trust. 

I also am anon-ish and I usually volunteer to take pictures of people when I don't want to be in the pics!

yeah i'm adjusting to/figuring this out as well. i know they've said no doxxing/posting photos of ppl without their consent (maybe even no photos at all?), stuff like that

beyond that though i think it's unfortunately something the anon has to navigate themselves. eg figure out how you want to intro yourself etc

Not really sure; I don't go from URL to IRL. Was hoping the people who do this sort of thing would have some kinda something.

If I say something like: "I'm anon and uncomfortable with going."
I'm hoping to hear something like:"Yep, normal. Here's what we can do."

What I got was: "No, nothing."
